Bhupali

Bhupali is a pentatonic (audav-audav) raga that omits Ma and Ni entirely, using only Sa, Re, Ga, Pa, and Dha. Despite the small note set — or because of it — it's considered a fairly accessible raga for beginners to start improvising in, with a calm, consonant character well suited to the early evening. Its simplicity also makes it a useful first raga to try against the validator below: with only five notes allowed, out-of-raga notes are easy to spot.
