Bageshri

Bageshri is an audav-sampurna raga — five notes ascending, seven descending — built on the Kafi thaat with komal Ga and otherwise shuddha notes. Pa is used only sparingly in performance, often treated as a passing note rather than a structural one, which is why it's left out of the aroha and avaroha here — a stricter validator would need to treat it as a special case rather than simply allowed-or-not. Traditionally performed late at night, it has a tender, yearning character often used for romantic and devotional themes alike.
